Hi Everybody and welcome to July, with weather that is so bloody hot that I can almost smell my pastey British skin burning!

Thanks to all of you who sent me emails with pictures of your men for the KTLA Morning News tomorrow.  I do not for one moment believe that all of these men were truly “willing” to get a in-depth manscaping on live tv.  Some of them looked downright horrified in the pictures. I can only imagine what some of you promised them if they volunteered!  We do in fact have a splendid candidate for tomorrow’s show.  He is definitely not lacking in the hair department, and I look forward to defurring him.  Should make for fun segments running throughout the KTLA morning news from 6:00am - 10:00am.  KTLA is channel Five.

1.    The first topic I’m thrilled to announce is Queen Bee’s NEW REWARDS PROGRAM, which we introduced today.

You will automatically be enrolled on your next visit or when a new client gives you credit for referring them, whichever comes first.

You can currently earn points two ways:

a)    Referring new clients to Queen Bee

When you refer a new client you will receive 1 Queen Bee Referral Point once the new client comes in for services. For every 3 referral points you earn, you can redeem your reward - 30% off of any service, excluding yoga, pilates, lashes and massage.

Make sure you let the girls at the front KNOW who you have referred for services and make sure your referrals mention you when they book their first appointment so we can be sure you get the credit!  It’s amazing how quickly you will earn the rewards.  This program will only apply to NEW referrals now that the rewards program is in place.

b)    Spending Rewards

For every dollar you spend in the shop on products or services (excluding yoga, pilates, lashes and massage), you will receive 100 Queen Bee Spending Rewards Points.  Once you have earned 25,000 points ($250 in spending), you can choose to redeem your points in one of three ways:

A. $20 off of a service (excluding pilates, yoga, lashes and massage)
B. 15% off of a product, where purchase price is less than $100.00
C. 10% off of a product, where purchase price is greater than $100.00

Total points earned for referrals and spending will print at the bottom of your receipt.  You won’t need a rewards card, as we track everything for you in our system automatically.

3.    MASSAGE

The Los Angeles Department of Health has FINALLY approved us for massage.  Going through the permitting process for massage has been a long, drawn out experience, and believe it or not, the City of Culver City, now has to have a “Committee Meeting” in late July to actually grant the license for us to perform this service.  It has been very frustrating for me, especially since the one thing they are worried about more than anything is “Happy Endings”.  I think most of you know by now that “Happy” is not what you usually are at the shop during a wax session!!!  I’ll keep you posted, but we’re finally getting close!!

4.    IN-HOME PRIVATE SERVICES

We have been doing a lot of private services as of late, especially at local businesses, mums groups and private residences.  At the moment, we are able to bring these services to private locations:
* Waxing
* Massage
* Mani/Pedis
* Hair Cuts and Blow Outs

6.    SUNDAYS

A lot of you love coming in on Sundays, which is great.  And I’m thrilled that you are loving my Apprentice Danika.  I met with another esthetician today, who has been in the field for over 20 years.  She may come on board part-time for Sundays, as Danika is booking up fast on Sundays.  I liked her instantly and she’s waxing me this Sunday, so I’ll let you know how that goes, and if she’s great, she’s on board with us!

For those of you who wanted the Nougat sparkly spray from London, it’s in.  But I won’t order more because Customs is a NIGHTMARE!!!!

Not much else to report.  Other than IT’S BLOODY HOT OUT THERE, so do wear your sunscreen, drinks tons of tea and water and exfoliate gently, regularly!  Do start to enjoy the garden at Queen Bee.  It’s so beautiful out there right now, and if you come early, you can put your feet up with a gossipy mag and cuppa tea before your appointment!

Also, remember that if you have a complaint or problem EVER at Queen Bee, I can’t do anything about it unless you open your gobs and tell me personally!  I am a tough cookie and it’s important that I get honest feedback, whether good or bad.
