RE:  May 2009 Updates!!!

Happy May!!!

This particular monthly newsletter has had me slightly frazzled as there is so much to talk about.  I have gone through many a bottle of Two Buck Chuck contemplating how to start it, so I will commence proceedings by giving you the skinny as follows:

1.    SUNDAYS!!!         In my last newsletter I asked what you improvements you wanted to see, and a lot of you told me “Sunday Hours”.  None of my girls at the shop want to work Sundays, because they are all at Church doing very righteous acts………….. like asking God to forgive them for the previous nights Tequila indulgence etc.  After a search of many a great esthetician we are thrilled to invite Danika da Matta into the Hive.  First and foremost, she is BRAZILIAN!!!   Could we ask for more???!!!  Secondly, she is obsessed with waxing, and after several rounds with her, I can confirm that she does indeed have “the touch”.   Danika starts with us next Sunday the 17th from 2pm through 6pm and she will be in Monday 11am - 4pm.  WE ARE OFFERING 50% OFF OF SERVICES WITH HER FOR THOSE DAYS, SO I NEED PEOPLE!!!  IF YOU WANT A HEAVILY DISCOUNTED WAX, PLEASE CONTACT JENN ASAP, AS THERE WILL BE LIMITED SPACE.  THIS IS FOR ALL WAXING SERVICES!!!

2.    MAGS.  We are honored to be included in the May 2009 Edition of Allure Magazine.  They sent a sneaky little spy in to check out our skills.  Fortunately that day, we were a dab hand with the wax and received two thumbs up.  It’s refreshing to see magazines like Allure and “C” physically send journalists in, instead of hitting Google.

3.    VACATION!! (a word not used enough)  Even though a lot of you tell me that I am just not entitled to one, I’ve decided to rebel.  Looks like end of May into early June I will be going home to surprise my mum for her 60th birthday.   You can’t turn me down with that request right? Anybody who has scheduled with me within those days, do not fear, I will make sure you get taken care of before I leave.  For the future, in the event I have to go home for more than a week or so, please please rest assured that the girls at Queen Bee are all trained.  If they can’t wax me, they can’t wax anybody.  In fact, there are many of you out there who prefer the other girls to me.  That I take as a compliment.   BTW:  Does anybody want to trade tons of my American Miles for Virgin or Brit. Airways?

4.    MASSAGE.  By June 1st we will have two (2) amazing massage technicians on hand to ease your aches and pains.  We will be offering all sorts of treatments…… without of course any naughtiness!   I’ll be posting a list of treatments, prices etc. onto the website soon.  BTW, do you know we Twitter now?  I update it from time to time.  I also post things on the Queen Bee Blog.
Our technicians DO offer in house services.  This can be done as a individual or as a couple. Give Jenn or Michelle a call at the desk for information.

5.    REWARDS PROGRAM    This should be initiated by May 18th.  We are working with our software peeps and will get back to you soon on that.

6.    MAT PILATES BOOT CAMP STARTS!!!     The much anticipated Pilates Book Camp starts next week - Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8pm.  This is for clients who have already been involved with a Pilates exercise in some way.  Mat Pilates has become extremely popular and we are extending our hours. The two (2) week $40 unlimited is still running, and will through the end of May.  It’s pretty inspiring to see so many of you kicking butt with Brandi and Irene!  I’ve already started to see a difference in a lot of you.  Well done!!!  (Shame I can’t get my sorry bottom in there with you!!!)

7.    COMING SOON.  “THE BEE SCENE”   I’ve been talking with a lot of you about having a Queen Bee social networking site.  Designed ONLY for Queen Bee clients and staff.  I will be working with some techie people to get this up and running.  I think it would be beneficial for us to all be able to assist each other.  i.e.  doctor referrals, job postings, events., etc.  I’ve even been talking with a client about getting a really classy dating system up and running.  There is so much we can do.  I even want to start talking about a group “Queen Bee Body Challenge”, but that’s later down the road.  I mean, all that talk about “Bikini Boot Camp”…. what better place to do that than at an actual Bikini Wax Spa!!!  More soon on that………….

8.    GENERAL WHINGING    Please don’t block our loo!!!  Be a folder, not a wadder!  Our poor lav has been backed up several times lately.  The plumbing is old and cranky, so be nice to it.  If you throw something down there that it doesn’t like, don’t be surprised if it spits it right back at you!!!  (Like the Blackberry Phone that a delightful client dropped and flushed last week.  God Bless Blackberry.  After several hours in the pipes, it still worked!
Being late for appointments. Please please be on time for appointments.  I have now gotten to the point where I will reschedule you if you are more than 10 minutes late.  Thanks to all of you who call us ahead when you are going to be late.  We appreciate that immensely.
